Taste Social

Music

The music playing in the room is ours.

Written and recorded by our owner, Philip — a low-key detail some of our regulars have come to look forward to.

Philip's Story

A musician who happened to open a restaurant.

Before Taste Social, Philip spent years writing and producing music on the side of a hospitality career. When the opportunity came up to open a venue properly, the two interests never really separated — so the room got its own soundtrack, written and recorded specifically for it.

It's a small, ongoing project shared across three sister venues — Han, Taste Social and Mariel's Bar — each with its own character, all drawing from the same body of original work. Here, it's mixed to sit quietly under lunch and step forward a little on Friday nights.

Why It's Here

How the music connects to the room

Tracks are mixed differently depending on the time of day — sparser and quieter for lunch, fuller once the room fills up in the evening. It's a small piece of craft most guests won't consciously notice, which is exactly the point: it's there to support the room, not perform for it.
